The drive of the gas distribution mechanism( timing), in classic VAZ models, is carried out by means of a double-row steel roller chain. The chain tension is carried out by a tensioner that presses on the shoe, pulling one branch of the chain, and the second branch works by coming into contact with the chain calmer, which dampens its vibrations that occur when the engine is running at different speeds.
The sedative of the chain "SAVI" has increased heat resistance, wear and oil resistance, thanks to the oil-and-gas-resistant rubber made using the innovative USPK technology. The recipe uses BNKS-28AMN (synthetic nitrile butadiene rubber).
