The chain tensioner shoe provides the necessary degree of tension of the timing chain, compensating for its pulling (up to 2%) that occurs during engine operation. When the working surface of the chain tensioner shoe is worn out under the action of friction forces or its destruction, under working conditions in an oil mist, the chain tension weakens. This can lead to the chain jumping over the teeth of the sprocket, a violation of the timing adjustment and, as a result, the engine failure.
Therefore, the shoe of the chain tensioner "SAVI" has a working surface made of rubber made according to the innovative USPK technology using BNKS-28AMN (synthetic butadiene-nitrile rubber). Thanks to this, the shoe has increased wear and heat resistance, as well as oil and gasoline resistance.
