In the external CV joints "BelMag" a classic design with a cage and balls is used. The hinge of this design works like a bevel gear, but instead of the teeth of the gear, which transmit the moment of torsion along the hinge, balls are used that act on their tracks in the inner and outer housings.
Precise angular positioning distributes the load from the steel balls evenly to the grooves, resulting in a long service life. The use of spline knurling technology guarantees accurate manufacturing and installation. For long life of the hinge, all friction surfaces are hardened by heat treatment and ground with high precision, and the parts are checked for cracks.
The design of the hinge allows you to change the length of the shaft when the suspension moves, like other internal hinges, but it has a greater longitudinal travel. And needle roller bearings, used instead of balls, withstand significantly higher loads.
After the heat treatment operation with carburization, the hardness of the working surfaces reaches 58 HRC. The main parts are checked for cracks.
